VICLogoEmpowering Indiana workers to become a highly-skilled, competitive workforce is job one. The GED diploma –a high school equivalent diploma - becomes an excellent option for those interested in betterment job efficiency, job promotion, education and investment in the future.

Valparaiso International Center is launching a GED preparation program for the Valparaiso community and surroundings area.

Clients can start our GED preparation program at any time. Our continuous open enrollment allows clients to start as soon as they are referred. Clients will prepare for the GED exam with a combination of online and face-to-face instruction. Patia Translations’ academic coach closely monitors client progress and arranges instructional support “on demand”, i.e. there is no waiting for the “next step” in our preparation process.

This process includes:

  • Web-based Assessment: Detailed language arts, reading and math assessments aligned to the target exam to give clients a clear picture of what they already know and what they need to learn to pass the GED test.
  • Individual Learning Plan (ILP): At the end of the diagnostic tests, we will be able to tell each client how many lessons it will take them to get ready for the GED final exam.
  • Math and Writing Skills Workshops: 2 hours of concentrated instruction that builds specific skills needed to pass the Math and Writing sessions of the GED exam.
  • Official Practice GED Test: This practice exam is a shortened version of the actual final GED test and predicts the likely score on the GED exam.
  • GED Coach: Gets you started; analyzes your diagnostic test results; sets up a computer-based work plan (ILP); helps you evaluate your progress; helps you set weekly goals; gives the Practice Test; helps you with test registration.
