Get Connected and GROW

calvary-link-header2012 is off to a great start at Calvary! Last Sunday morning both of our worship services were packed out, we baptized people that YOU witnessed to, and the staff had coffee Sunday evening downtown Valpo with a café full of new worshippers. One of my passions in the coming year is that our church community will be even more committed to the gospel—to knowing it, to living it, and to sharing it.

I want to urge you to sign up for a Covenant Group this Sunday if you have not done so already. This is a great way for you to get connected to friends who will help you grow in your love for God, by encouraging you to live out the WORD in your life every single day.

I just read another note from a member whose life has been changed by our verse-by-verse study of Ecclesiastes. How satisfying for a pastor! We will study Ecclesiastes again this Sunday—don’t miss out on the change that can happen in your life from hearing the Word! Remember that Kurt and I will be leading a time of intimate worship and prayer at our Facetime gathering tonight at 6:30p. We are praying because we desperately need God. In the words of C. S. Lewis, “I pray because I can’t help myself.”

Working for Your JOY,

Lionel

What's new at Calvary...

Facetime Prayer Gathering

We hope you will join us to celebrate the new year with a special time of prayer together TONIGHT, 1.11 at 6:30p! At this monthly prayer gathering led by the pastors, we will pray for our church, our city, our country, and the cause of global missions. You won’t want to miss it!

Covenant Groups

Our small group ministry is the primary vehicle for discipleship and care within the Calvary family. Joining a small group is essential to getting “plugged in”. For more information on Covenant Groups CLICK HERE. Open registration for the next session is this Sunday, 1.15 and Sunday, 1.22.

Adult Electives

Due to the intense interest in last year's series on Christians and Psychotropic medication, our very own Dr. Eugene Lin has offered to come back and provide some additional teaching on the topic of ADD/ ADHD this Sunday, 1.15 at 9:30a in room 300. Questions this class will seek to answer include: What is ADD/ ADHD? How is it diagnosed? Does having a child diagnosed with ADD make me a bad parent? Does it exist in adults? How is it treated? Time for Q & A will be included.

Band of Brothers

Join us for the Band of Brothers Winter Festivus Dinner at Pikk's Tavern on Friday, 1.20 at 7p! Sign up at the Info Desk on Sunday or CLICK HERE for more info.

Women's Ministries

Sign up for one of the excellent women's Bible studies beginning next week by clicking the study title! Patriarchs: Encountering the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob by Beth Moore, Precept study on the book of James, and Me, Myself and Lies: A Thought Closet Makeover.
