Kick off the holiday season at the POCO Muse! Join the Porter County Museum at 153 S Franklin St in Valparaiso for a weekend of holiday fun and history.
On December 4 at 5:30p, Valparaiso University’s Hands on History Class will present their research on Civil Rights in Lake and Porter Counties. Stop by the Museum to hear more about this insightful research as the students share stories of race relations in our community.
On December 5 from 5-7p, join downtown Valparaiso for Holly Days! At the Museum, the Valparaiso Woman’s Association will be selling baked goods, the Great Lake Sound Chorus will be caroling, and a very jolly guest will be stopping by!
On December 6 at 2p, join the POCO Muse in commemorating Pearl Harbor with a presentation of oral histories from Porter County residents. Imagine what it was like to hear the news first hand, and learn about how the events at Pearl Harbor affected our Porter County communities thousands of miles away.
All events are free and open to the public. Visit pocomuse.org to learn more. Happy holidays from the POCO Muse!
