Girl Scouts Complete 2015 Silver Award

Girl-Scouts-Complete-Silver-Award-2015Members of Girl Scout troop 289 of Valparaiso recently earned their Girl Scout Silver Award by planning and executing an anti-bullying program in the community. The program included such activities as developing a website about bullying which was available to the public. The girls used social media sites such as Instagram and Facebook to educate their peers about the widespread issues concerning bullying both in and out of school.

The Silver Award is the second highest award a Girl Scout can achieve. The troop, along with leader Amy Collier, traveled to Ohio this summer as a celebration of earning the award. They visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and Cedar Point Amusement Park.
