Gloria Carns: Offering Hometown Service Made from Scratch at Strawberry Fields

Strawberry Fields Pancake House and Restaurant may be new to the Region, but the quality of service comes from years of experience. As an extension of The Pancake Club of Schererville and Les Cafe Pancake House in Highland, this Crown Point restaurant is run by Harry Les, an experienced entrepreneur who is committed to offering his customers top service. To do that, he has established a friendly and knowledgeable staff to make his customers feel welcome.

Gloria Carns has been working as a server at Strawberry Fields since July 2017 and has become very well acquainted with the customers, her co-workers, and the owner. Though she lives in Cedar Lake, Carns says that she feels right at home at Strawberry Fields.

“They treat us like we’re all family,” said Carns. “I like the customers and the employees - they’re all pretty friendly.”

This isn’t her first time being a server. Carns says that she has been a server for a while and that she makes sure to extend the same homestyle consideration to her customers.

“I treat them as if they’re my own family,” Carns explained. “I’ve been a server for a long time. I enjoy talking to all the customers...I’m a people person!”

A good server requires that friendly and patient personality, a sharp mind, and the endurance to meet the customers’ needs in a timely manner. Like Carns, the staff at Strawberry Fields possess all these traits and deliver excellent service to match the top-notch food.

The restaurant has a variety of pancakes, crepes, and waffles to choose from, but Carns recommends the Fresh Fruit Waffles if you have a sweet tooth or the Touch of Mexico Skillet if you are looking for something savory.
