Former VHS and VU student-athlete Jeanette Gray will take over the coaching reigns for the VHS Girls Varsity Basketball program this year. She is coming over from Highland High School, and will teach business class along side her coaching duties.
Gray was a star for the Vikings and was named as an Indiana All-Star in 1999. She was just announced as a member of the 2010 VHS Hall of Fame Class as well. She went on to play for Valparaiso University, putting together a great college career that culminated in the 2002-2003 VU Athlete of the Year award. Gray replaces Coach David “Crock” McGonigle, who left the position due to family reasons.
