For 19 years, the skilled providers at Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, P.C., have been taking care of community members across the Region. Led by Dr. Keith Pitchford, founder, president and CEO, the team at Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine can effectively address everything from knee replacements to tennis elbow, and beyond.
“Our goal is to provide the highest quality health care as efficiently as possible with the goal to return the patient to his or her previous level of function, provide a safe and friendly environment for patients and their families, and maintain the highest ethical standards in a collegial setting,” Pitchford said.
Patients at Great Lakes Orthopedic & Sports Medicine receive a multi-faceted, individualized treatment plan to help them heal and return to their highest level of function possible.
“We feel that we are set apart from other orthopedic practices in the area because we guide and assist our patients through all aspects of their care. Not only do we guide them through the diagnosis and treatment, but we also help them through billing and insurance issues,” Pitchford said. “We strive to help our patients understand and educate them regarding their ailment. We help coordinate their physical therapy if needed, and work with workman's comp coordinators, etc. We shepard our patients the entire way through their treatment, from beginning to end,” he said.
Dr. Pitchford also gives back to his community. He has been assisting the Lake Central football team and others in the area for more than a decade. Great Lakes Orthopedics & Sports Medicine also offers discounted physicals for student athletes and donates proceeds back to the school’s athletic department. At home games, you will find Dr. Pitchford on the sidelines, lending his expert care to the team. Pitchford also has been a large supporter of fundraisers for various athletic departments around the Region.
“All of this is important to Great Lakes because we understand the importance of sports and extracurricular activities for our students. These programs help them to be well-rounded adults and become a part of something bigger than themselves. It helps keep our kids active and healthy and is some cases, even keeps them in school. In the end, Greats Lakes wants healthy, educated, well rounded, productive community members that we hope to see prosper,” Pitchford said.
The community is grateful for the constant support that the company has given over the years.
“They are always willing to work with our students and parents if there’s an injury. In addition, the team is always pleasant and there to help our athletes,” said Chris Enyeart, Lake Central High School Athletic Director.
