Hammond Sportsplex Hosts Gardening Camp for Kids this June

Mayor Thomas M. McDermott, Jr. and the City of Hammond are pleased to present a camp all about nature and plants. The Grow Your Own Camp is open to all kids ages 5-9 and 10-15 and is taking place on June 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th outdoors at the Hammond Sportsplex. The program runs from 10am – 11am for ages 5-9 and from 11:30am – 12:30pm for ages 10-15. Participants will learn about the outdoors, herbs, fruits, vegetables and more.

This program, new to the Sportsplex, is open to residents as well as non-residents of the City of Hammond.

Registration for this event is $25 and is taking place at the Hammond Sportsplex located at 6630 Indianapolis Blvd. This fee provides instruction for the program and includes a hands-on experience with a free starter plant, soil and pot. Spaces are limited to 25 kids, all of which are required to come wearing a face mask or covering. Registration is open until May 31st.
