Renovating at the Shelter

STAND, Socially Together and Naturally Diverse, is a club in the Merrillville Schools that focuses on promoting and appreciation for diversity and community service work. The STAND Alumni group came to give the kitchen at the shelter a facelift as they transformed the pink walls into a warm sage color. The volunteers did a wonderful job!

Breakfast with Santa

The First United Methodist Church in Valparaiso hosted Breakfast with Santa with proceeds benefiting The Caring Place. The 175 people that attended this first time event raised $350 .

Baking and Relating for a Cause

The Foods and Interpersonal relations classes at Valparaiso High School held a fundraiser for The Caring Place. The students baked 199 dozen cookies and sold food on a munchie cart. With the proceeds, they went shopping theireslves and purchased items for The Caring Place.
