Heinold and Feller Combating Northwest Indiana’s Bad Gas Issue

Heinold-Feller-Gas-RecallWith the recall of gas from BP, many customers are left with engine problems, unsure of where to turn for help. "We are getting many cars towed in for not starting," stated Joe Feller, owner of Heinold and Feller Tire and Lawn Equipment. "We are also getting some cars that are able to drive in but are running very poorly. The issue is bad gas."

"We are finding misfire codes to be the most common reason that the check engine light is on," he went on to say. "We are also coming across a gummy black residue on the spark plugs."

To get the vehicles back in good running condition, the mechanics at Heinold and Feller start by draining the gas and properly disposing of it. The fuel filter and spark plugs are then replaced, followed by a flushing of the fuel injection system with a three-part professional fuel system cleaner.

"We are getting these cars turned around as fast as possible, but some patience is required due to the volume of vehicles," Feller stated. "Our customers have been reassured that if they have a fuel receipt, they will be reimbursed by the gas station or BP."
