Here’s REGIONAL Federal Credit Union’s Holiday Helping Recap

REGIONAL-Winter-1It’s no secret that REGIONAL Federal Credit Union is committed to the community they serve, and a large part of this commitment to serving the community extends far beyond the branch doors of the credit union.

Which is why it is no surprise that REGIONAL spent this holiday season giving back to organizations and people around Northwest Indiana that needed a helping hand.

And to give you a glimpse into just how much good REGIONAL did this year, we put together a little recap of some of the ways they got involved this season:

South Shore Arts Polar Express Reception:

Arts are a big part of our lives, and can often times serve as cathartic outlet for our emotions. For this reason, and many others, art plays an integral role in the education of our youth.

South Shore Arts and REGIONAL teamed up to help give Hammond students the experience of Christmas and art this year with a Polar Express Reception featuring holiday-themed arts and crafts, and ornament box creations (filled with gifts from Santa) that created an experience these kids will never forget.

Giving Tuesday:

In response to the Black Friday and Cyber Monday trends that focus on consumption, Giving Tuesday was created; a holiday, of sorts, focused entirely on giving back to others less fortunate.

Given REGIONAL’s commitment to the community it was no surprise to see many of their employees involved in Giving Tuesday, including volunteering to help pack meals for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.

Tis’ the season for helping:

The Polar Express Reception would not have been possible without its volunteers, which is why REGIONAL employees rolled up their sleeves at Substation No. 9 a few days before the reception to help the kiddos create the atmosphere for the reception; including the tradition of building the perfect tree for Christmas, complete with their own ornaments and decorations.

These are just a few of the many things REGIONAL does for the community during the holiday season, but the reality of it is that this just a brief glimpse into the hard work that does for the community all year round.

And as REGIONAL FCU Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Kevin Kosek, puts it, that’s the way it should be with a member/community-owned Credit Union.

“REGIONAL supports many organizations in communities all around Northwest Indiana because that is what members should expect from their credit union. Our members tell us to get involved in the community and help improve the areas we serve, and we are more than happy to do that.”
