Home Prices Still Rising In November 2014

rot2Home prices continue to rise in November in Northwest Indiana, according to the latest real estate market data.

“It’s still a seller’s market,” reports Jeanne Sommer, broker/owner of CENTURY 21 Alliance Group in Valparaiso, IN. The Inventory is low and now is a great time to list your home. The average sales price of single-family homes rose in both Lake and Porter Counties. In Lake County, the price rose from $138,435 in 2013 to $145,994 in 2014. In Porter County, the price in 2013 was $186,684 but rose in 2014 to $194,627.

In Porter County, the number of days a property was listed on the market stayed the same at 123 days from 2013 to 2014. The number of homes sold in Lake County is about the same from 2013 to this year. “2015 should be a stellar year,” says Nick Sommer, VP of CENTURY 21 Alliance Group.
