Hot Chelle Rae Graces the Porter County Fair Stage

Hot Chelle Rae's friendly presence and whole hearted love to entertain held fans in a state of amazement before, during and after the performance.

About an hour before the show, their “Beautiful Freaks” lined up for a meet and greet to pose with the entertainers. Ryan Follesé, Jamie Follesé, Ian Keaggy and Nash Overstreet welcomed children, teens and adults with open arms. Handshakes and hugs were shared as the Nashville stars continued recognizing their devotees of all shapes and sizes.

In a brief interview, the whole group agreed that when performing onstage eye contact is always important to engage the audience. Seeing tweets from fans proclaiming, “Our eyes locked!” or something of the like is a goal they always strive to achieve.

When asked how they felt playing at the Porter County Fairgrounds, Ryan Follesé shared, “We’re excited. We have a lot of fans in Chicago, so it’s really cool for us to play here.”

Ryan Follesé, who is the lead singer and one of two guitar players in Hot Chelle Rae, and Overstreet (lead guitar, vocals) both enjoy showing off their “target practice” skills by tossing their guitar picks to fans after each song ends.

Being onstage in front of thousands is nothing short of astounding. Overstreet passionately described his insight to the sensation, “You lose yourself and forget what you’re doing; it’s more about the interaction of energy between you and the audience. When they’re going crazy, it fuels you and makes you put on a bigger show and that gives them more energy; it’s a crazy circle that doesn’t stop.”

During their performance, fans sang along with the band and enthusiastically put “three in the air” which is a signature symbol for their hit song "Whatever." As Overstreet informed prior, the energy from the four artists to their fans and vise versa was extraordinary. A group of girls rapped a part of "I Like It Like That" with the entertainers onstage which proved their personable, fun and down to earth nature.

Watching all the members of Hot Chelle Rae doing what they do best, engaging their diehard enthusiasts or first time listeners, is surely a remarkable experience. “We always want to make our performances memorable to everyone,” said Jamie Follesé, the drummer of the group. When inquiring about their star-studded success, Keaggy (bassist, vocalist) answered, “This is something we have always hoped and dreamed for and we finally have it.”

On or off stage, Hot Chelle Rae has uninterrupted potential and personalities that are unique and unforgettable.
