Housing-Opportunities-Thanks-You-For-Giving-LocalGive Local America was a big, bold opportunity for our community that encouraged everyone to be a philanthropist. Large and small gifts were combined for a really big impact! More that 300,000 donors gave over $50 Million to 7,000 nonprofits in 120 communities, making "Give Local America" the largest, single-day online event ever. You made history!

Lakeside Wealth Management, First Allied Securities, Inc. did not hesitate to step in and take the lead to support Housing Opportunities as a match donor for gifts made on that day. That means funds that were designated to HO went further on May 6th and made a larger impact right here in our neighborhood. Caroline Shook, CEO shared. "To see special supporters like Mike and Nacy Yohe and Lakeside Wealth Management who created a match pool and to see our board of directors, staff, and online supporters rise to challenge of this historical event left us speechless. We were honored to have been surrounded by such passionate supporters for that historical day of giving."

Hungry, Inc also stepped up to celebrate Give Local and had their food truck at HO for lunch and dinner service on May 6th, which drew many locals and helped raise awareness. To take it a step further, Hungry Inc. donated 10% of all sales that day back to HO to support Give Local Porter County.

We are excited to announce thanks to bold steps by community members who partnered with us on this day of giving, together we raised over $18,000. Included in this total are funds from the match donors as well as a $1,000 bonus prize we won for having the most unique donors during a power hour - Thank You - we couldn't have won this prize without supporters like you! We are thankful for the opportunity in Give Local Porter County not only to spread the word about our mission but to see a real change happening live online through the generosity of this community. Many thanks to the Porter County Community Foundation for leading the way on this great day!
