HRSA announces new funding is available for healthcare providers

Like many local businesses healthcare providers are seeing increased expenses and decreased revenues due to the outbreak of COVID19. As the PHE persists doctors continue to experience increased expenses from purchasing PPE and office sanitizing equipment, as well as, in areas of technology stemming from the purchase of systems needed to provide telehealth.

In order to assist our front line workers, the Department of Health and Human Services made aid available for providers through the General Distribution of the Provider Relief Fund, which was dispersed previously to practices that applied during Phase 1 and 2 of the program.

Now, the Health Resources & Services Administration has announced a third phase of the General Distribution of the Provider Relief Fund. Phase 3 will make an additional $20 billion available to eligible practices in an effort to provide doctors with additional support.

Your practice may be eligible to receive funds during the Phase 3 distribution even if you received funds previously. Providers that have not received PRF distributions equal to 2% of their patient care revenue from the year 2018 may be eligible to receive additional funding. Approved applicants will receive a payment in phase 3 equal to 2% of their patient care revenue minus any previously received payments.

The application process is open between October 5, 2020 and November 6, 2020. To submit your application visit the Provider Relief Fund Application and Attestation Portal.
