Hummel Out For Remainder Of Season With Torn ACL

Purdue junior forward Robbie Hummel will miss the remainder of the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the Boilermakers’ win at Minnesota on Wednesday. The tear was confirmed by MRI on Thursday afternoon.

“Injuries are a part of the game, but this is obviously disappointing on multiple levels because of everything Robbie Hummel has done for this program both on and off the court,” Purdue head coach Matt Painter said. “As he begins his recovery and rehab, Robbie will continue to provide integral leadership as we pursue our team goals down the stretch.”

Hummel will not be available for comment.

Purdue returns to action on Sunday, when it hosts Michigan State at 4 p.m. ET.
