As some of you may have already heard, members from the IEDC have just returned from a series of business meetings in Israel and Turkey. One of the most significant was our meeting with Zafer Çaglayan, the Minister of Economy for Turkey. We discussed ways to provide a soft landing in Indiana for countries such as Turkey who may be relatively new to doing business in the US market, but who are growing quickly and steadily. We also invited him to bring a delegation of Turkish companies to see Indiana soon.
These are fantastic new avenues to bring new jobs and investment to Indiana, and we will continue to pursue them and share the results with you. A great way to get a feel for this type of international outreach, and maybe to get involved directly, would be to attend the upcoming Turkish Trade Office Investment Conference in Chicago on March 15. Our own Salena Lee will be there to represent the IEDC and this would be a great networking opportunity at a venue only a few hours from Indy. [Learn More]
We can never have too many representatives for Indiana at an event like this. In fact, some of our best ambassadors for the Hoosier state are successful business leaders like yourselves, who so graciously share their time to tell the Indiana story. It's a great example of going the distance to bring new opportunities to the Hoosier state, and yet another reason Indiana is a state that works for business.
