In Loving Memory of Cindy King

Written by Jan McCorkle

Cindy King...my cohort in educating Kindergarten students for almost 20 years.

Cindy King...my friend for almost 30 years. (Cin and I each had 3 great children, all born in the same years!)

Cindy started at Saint Paul Tiny Tim as a pre-school aide for a year or two. She became my aide in Kindergarten and was child care coordinator for our day care. She would make lesson plans, prepare crafts and write monthly newsletters and calendars.

Cindy and I were a team in Kindergarten. The year started off with Ms. McCorkle as the "meany" and Mrs. King being the calming, soothing one. At year's end our roles changed and Mrs. King was the "meany" and I turned into the calming one. We certainly complemented one another well.

Her craft ideas were amazing, even though for days and sometimes weeks, the children and I would go crazy trying to complete these "amazing crafts!" We always did and they were the best!

There are many personal memories that will be in my heart forever, but here are some examples that I'm sure cindy would not mind me telling. She hated to dress up. It was like pulling teeth to get her in a dress for graduation. "Are you really wearing a dress?" she'd ask. Our kindergarten trips to Indy were always an adventure, Mrs. Czapla can attest to this!

There are so many memories, so many children and parents throughout these 20 years that Cindy King has touched. My buddy in educating kindergarten students, my friend, Cindy King will forever be in my heart and in the hearts of countless others.

Peace, Cin.

P.S. I was honored to see Cindy wanted donations to go to Saint Paul Tiny Tim.
