International Mission Store Open

The International Mission Store Sponsored by the First United Methodist Church, located at 103 Franklin Street, Valparaiso, will be open Saturday, November 14 from 9am-3pm and on Sunday, November 15 from 8am-noon.

This is a not-for-profit event supporting fair trade, offering a fascinating shopping experience in which the purchases bring fair income and dignity to the artisans of high quality crafts that represent their culture and environment.
Over the past 5 years we have grown each year, with many dedicated volunteers working many hours to make it happen.  Join us for a cup of fair traded coffee, tea or hot chocolate and a sample of some of the fair traded products such as marula jelly.  There will be a craft table for children while their parents shop.

Shop for a collection of items such as jewelry, baskets, home decor, nativities and Christmas decorations and nativities, musical instruments, and chocolate.

This event is in cooperation with SERRV International and Ten Thousand Villages, well known large USA retailers of Fair Traded items, as they work with the arisans in underdeveloped countries to develop their artistic and marketing skills, for a fair wage in satisfactory working conditions in environmentally sound ways.
