IU Northwest Offers ‘Effective Social Media Strategies for Small Businesses’ Workshop on Nov. 19

Marketing professor aims to help small businesses develop better marketing strategy using social media

rot1Indiana University Northwest’s School of Business and Economics and the Northwest Indiana Small Business Development Center (ISBDC) invite leaders of local small businesses to learn more about social media marketing at a free workshop, “Effective Social Media Strategies for Small Businesses,” from 12 to 4 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19 in the Dunes Medical/Professional Building, room 1156.

Professor of Marketing Subir Bandyopadhyay, Ph.D. will facilitate the program. Bandyopadhyay has vast experience in social media marketing and digital communication.

Objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Outline the challenges faced by small businesses in marketing their products and services;
  • Help small businesses in Northwest Indiana develop cost-effective social media strategies; and
  • Help small businesses in Northwest Indiana explore various cost-efficient, yet effective, media options that are available to identify, inform and persuade potential customers.
