Indiana University Northwest was recognized for its strong commitment to diversity, and excellence in diversity programming and services, at the 11th National Role Models Conference hosted by Minority Access, Inc. The award was presented to IU Northwest, as well as IU Bloomington, at the Diversity Awards Dinner held Friday, Sept. 10, 2010 in Las Vegas.

Vicki Roberts, Associate Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Multicultural Affairs at IU Bloomington, accepted the award on behalf of IU Northwest and IU Bloomington.

This award marks a tremendous point of pride for IU Northwest,” said Ken Coopwood, Ph.D., Director of Diversity Programming at IU Northwest. “Congratulations to all at IU Northwest who have worked so hard to make this university a place of higher learning for all races, creeds, and cultures.”

The campus’s award will be displayed in the Chancellor’s suite. The Office of Diversity Programming encourages all to stop by and view the distinguished award in recognition of the university’s achievement.

Minority Access, Inc. is an educational organization that supports academic institutions seeking to improve the recruitment, retention and enhancement of minorities.
