IU Northwest to Host Career Success Workshop April 1, Job Fair April 10

rot1Indiana University Northwest’s Offices of Alumni Relations and Career Services are teaming up this spring to bring students and recent graduates a wealth of professional career advice as well as a job fair to hone their interview skills and secure an opportunity.

The IU Alumni Association has assembled a panel of experts, including recent successful graduates, to discuss such topics as:

Dressing for success (and how not to dress)
What recruiters are looking for in candidates
How to market yourself online
Advice from recent alumni who have been successful
Creating and executing an effective long-term plan to meet your career aspirations

Among the experts presenting at the workshop is Emili Sperling, the alumni programs officer for Student and Recent Graduate Enrichment at Indiana University in Bloomington. An emerging leader who is passionate about empowering Generation Y with tools to ramp up their professional careers, she speaks nationally about the power of Millennials in the workforce.

14th Annual Job Fair
Friday, April 10
9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Savannah Center Gymnasium

Employers who are recruiting professionals will be on hand at the job fair to provide information about their companies, take applications and interview candidates. This is an opportunity to seek internships, part-time or full-time employment. Attendees are advised to bring copies of their resume and dress professionally.

This year’s job fair is expected to be the largest ever, with more than 30 employers registered to attend so far, and more companies being added daily. To date, employers attending include:
