The Indiana University Northwest Wellness Team, in cooperation with members from the IU Northwest Student Nurses Association, will provide free blood pressure checks on Tuesday, Feb. 22. The event, inspired by the American Heart Association’s ‘American Heart Month’ (February), is the campus organizations efforts to provide a healthier work and learning environment.

The greater Northwest Indiana community and the campus can receive the free checks by visiting the lobby of the Library Conference Center or the Savannah Center from 11:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Members from the Wellness Team will also provide information on healthy eating habits, as well as information on the campus’s Smoke Free Initiative.

The Wellness Team is an association of IU Northwest faculty, staff and students who contribute their expertise, experience and time to the campus and greater community. The Wellness Team, with the assistance of the University, promotes and preserves the physical, environmental and spiritual wellness of employees and students through comprehensive wellness promotion programs, information and activities.

The Library Conference Center is located on the southeast corner of the campus along 35th Ave. and Broadway. The Savannah Center is located on the northeast corner of the campus along 33rd Ave. and Broadway.
