Ivy Tech Wii Bowled for a Cause

Ivy Tech faculty, staff and students gathered in the Gary campus student lounge on September 18 to cheer on the top four Wii bowlers from the Gary, Valparaiso, Michigan City and East Chicago campuses at the 1st Annual Wii bowling fundraising championship tournament.

Over 100 students, staff and faculty participated in the competition.  The four highest scorers were Brian Griffin, Gary campus student, Shannon Wachholz, Valparaiso campus student, Casey Kindig, Michigan City campus student, and Nellie Toney, secretary to ViceChancellor R. Louie Gonzalez for the East Chicago campus.   

After a very close and exciting game, Brian Griffin bowled a 246 and beat out his competition.  “I enjoy playing Nintendo Wii with my family, and was excited to participate in the tournament,” said Griffin. 

Proceeds from the entry fee into the tournament benefited the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
