In the real estate world, Realty Executives Premier embodies those qualities, and the St. John office, led by Jason Moon, is no exception. Moon graduated from college with a degree in Technology. He spent time working in Chicago and began investing in rental properties, often using a friend as an agent. He didn’t realize it at the time that doing so would change the course of his life.
“I had a closing where I was across the table and this other agent did a poor job,” Moon said. “I was taken aback by how bad that person did. It blew my mind. The next year I decided to get my license, not with the intention of becoming a real estate broker, just to help my investment side.”
With his license attained, Moon began doing real estate on the side. With time, he found that he truly enjoyed the act of finding people their perfect homes; it paired well with his love of Northwest Indiana. As a lifetime resident, he knows the benefits of living in the area.
“It’s always been a very safe, very comfortable area,” Moon said. “It’s close to Chicago but without the Chicago traffic. It’s safe, things are affordable, and there’s a lot to offer.”
After working with other real estate brokers, Moon began work with Mike Tezak in Valparaiso. Moon had the idea to build a stronger presence for Realty Executives out in the St. John area. Working closely with Tezak, Moon searched out a location and created a presence for the brand in St. John.
“It’s important to have a local presence,” Moon explained. “I live in south Lake County. [Tezak] helped me through the process; we’re all the same family but it’s my little baby in St. John.”
Moon’s office brings the same quality service that clients have come to expect from Realty Executives Premier. By taking time with clients, finding what they want, and knowing that he’s helping others make one of the biggest purchases of their lives, Moon believes that his office can provide an excellent service.
“Having patience to find the right house is important; we’re here to help people make this decision and if it takes us five years, that’s fine,” Moon said. “It’s not about rushing people out so that we can make a commission check. It’s about asking what they want, what they need, and guiding them toward the right decision.”
