Twenty-three-year-old Jeff Cameron of Crown Point works at Overhead Door of Northwest Indiana, and is happy to be in the family business. Father and owner, James Cameron, and brother, Jimmy, also work there, a fact that adds to the family atmosphere that the company is so famous for.
“It’s great, I’m working with my dad and brother, and I just like the people here honestly. I’ve worked in the office and in the field and I like the comradery we have here,” said Cameron. “It’s a really family friendly atmosphere, everyone jokes around, has a good time, but also gets the job done.”
Though there are a fair share of Cameron’s in the office, that family atmosphere extends to the other employees as well, and creates the work culture that Overhead Door has become so famous for in the community.
“I work with my brother a lot, we do commercial jobs, most of the bigger doors that we do we’ll tag team. I do work with my dad pretty closely too, between marketing stuff, social media stuff, and some Google Pay Per Click stuff,” said Cameron.
In their off time, the family also enjoy playing hockey together, as well as golf and watching sports.
As for what he likes about working and living in Northwest Indiana, the closeness of the community is what he enjoys the most.
“I like the community aspect of Northwest Indiana, I’ve lived here for so long and gone to high school in Crown Point, I just like the togetherness of the Region. The Region itself is just a really close-knit place and I like that,” said Cameron.
