Joining the Saint Paul Team: Gayle Bakota

Joining the Saint Paul Team: Gayle Bakota

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Gayle Bakota and I am the new enrichment teacher here at Saint Paul Catholic School. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Saint Joseph's College in Rensselaer. I went on to receive a minor in reading and an endorsement in language arts.

Upon graduating I took my first job at my childhood grade school, St. Mary's in Crown Point, as a resource teach-er. Then I went on to teach 3rd grade at Saint John the Evangelist for 6 years. I left teaching to raise my three boys, Connor (7th grade), Nate (4th grade), and Andrew (Kindergarten). However, now that all three boys are attending Saint Paul's I couldn't wait to get back to my career.

Outside of work, I love to spend time with my family. We just got a chocolate lab, named Wrigley last Christmas. He has brought so much joy to our family. I also love to go on long hikes and sit by the Lake in Michigan. I've always loved nature as I grew up on 9 acres of wooden land in Hebron. My other passion is volleyball. I played for Andrean High School and Saint Joseph's College.

The last couple of years I have coached the Saint Paul 5th and 6th grade Boys’ Volleyball team. It has been the most rewarding experience.
