June First Friday/LOK Wishing Tree Foundation, South Shore Dance Alliance

rot11Lubeznik Center for the Arts will host the LOK Young Artist's Expo in partnership with the Lindsey O'Brien Kesling Wishing Tree Foundation. Come join us for a family friendly, multi-media showcase of artwork, dance and music that will include participants from each of the LOK Wishing Tree Foundation's three partnering arts organizations.

Outdoor and indoor music and dance performances from students from Pine Elementary, Krueger Middle School, and South Shore Dance Alliance will begin at 5:00 p.m. During the evening, an interactive Wishing Tree installation by artist Deborah Landry will be set up in the NIPSCO Art Education Studios. Free event with light refreshments.

LCA values it's continued partnership with LOK Wishing Tree Foundation. The partnership brings high quality arts curriculum and engagement to area youth. More about this partnership with can be found under the "partnership" button at lubeznikcenter.org.

While at LCA be sure to visit the exhibitions currently on display. In the Hyndman Gallery, Material Possessions, a collection of contemporary fiber art, by Frank Connet, Karen Gubitz, Aram Han, John Paul Morabito, Lisa Lee Peterson and Clifford Peterson. Upstairs in the Brincka Cross and Northview Galleries, Ignorance With Wings, new works by Michael Bill Smith.

Lubeznik Center for the Arts is located at 101 W. 2nd St., at the lakefront in Michigan City, IN. Gallery weekday hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (CDT). Weekend hours are from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (CDT). Extended hours until 7:00 p.m. on Thursdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
