June Happenings At The Caring Place

Vanis Cuts for a Cause

During the month of May on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Chris Valvanis of VANIS Salon held a fundraiser for The Caring Place. Honoring his 26 years of cutting hair, he did hair cuts for $26 and all proceeds came to The Caring Place. Chris has retired from cutting hair, but still owns Vanis Salons. Even before the month began, the hair cuts were booked! Chris was able to raise $1,521. Thank you Chris!

NHS Creates Kits

The Portage High School National Honor Society sponsored a snack cart at PHS to raise funds for Survivor Kits for the women in shelter. Each kit came with snack items, a journal, nail polish, note cards, pens, and a deck of cards. Also, the NHS members made bracelets for the clients with the word HOPE etched on the bracelet. The Survivor Kits put smiles on everyone's faces.

Birthday Bags

Thank you to all who played Heads and Tails at Black Tie Bingo! The money that was raised from the special game went to birthday bags for the kids. And a special thank you to Stephanie Jones who went a step further and made birthday bags for The Caring Place! Thank you to all again!
