The Valpo Parks Department has instructional opportunities for juniors of all skill levels. Classes are instructed by Nancy Bender, LPGA teaching professional at Creekside Golf Course and Training Center 2355 Clifford Road in Valparaiso.
Junior 202 Class
A two- hour class for Juniors, ages 12 and older, who have had some experience with the game. Each week the junior is learning a different set of golf skills alternating between full swing, short game and course management. Class is Tuesdays at 4 pm, October 2-23, for only $30 a class plus range balls.
Junior 101 Classes
This one hour class is intended to assist juniors ages 9-11 who are either new to or have had a little experience with golf. Each 1-hour class addresses one or two golf skills. Class is on Fridays at 4 pm, October 5-19 for $15 a class plus range balls. Friday, October 26 at 1 PM is a special two hour class full of contests and on-course play for only $30.
Linkster Academy
A one-hour skill progressive class for beginners aged 6-8. October classes are on Saturdays at 2 PM from October 6-27. Price is $15 a class plus range balls.
Lil’ Tigers Academy
A 45-minute class for youth accompanied by an adult is for ages 3-5 with adult playing free. Price is $15 a class on each Saturday in October at 1 PM.
The First Tee and LPGA Girls Golf combined Halloween event!
Youth ages 6 and older, are invited to participate in the October ‘Haunted Halloween’ event scheduled from 4-7 PM on Sunday, October 28. Youth must register by October 15th. Youth 10 and under must be accompanied by a guardian. Fee to participate is $10.
