The Valpo Parks Department has instructional opportunities for juniors of all skill levels. Classes are instructed by Nancy Bender, LPGA teaching professional at Creekside Golf Course and Training Center 2355 Clifford Road in Valparaiso.
Junior 202 Class
A two- hour class for Juniors, ages 12 and older, who have had some experience with the game. Each week the junior is learning a different set of golf skills alternating between full swing, short game and course management. Tuition is $30 per class plus range balls. Class is Tuesdays at 4 pm, September 4-25, for $30 a class plus range balls.
Junior 101 Classes
This one hour class is intended to assist juniors ages 9-11 to learn or improve a specific golf skill. Each week the junior is learning a different set of golf skills and will be on the course every third class. Class is on Fridays at 4 pm, September 74-28, for $15 a class plus range balls.
Linkster Academy
A one-hour skill progressive class for beginners aged 6-8. September classes are on Saturdays at 2 PM from September 8-29. Price is $15 a class plus range balls.
Lil’ Tigers Academy
A 45-minute class for youth accompanied by an adult is for ages 3-5 with adult playing free. Price is $15 a class on Saturdays at 1 PM.
The First Tee Sessions For September/October
Youth learn life skill and character lessons while learning the game of golf. Appropriate for ages 7 – 12, each session is 10 hours plus time on the course, with players divided into group based on age. Tuition is $110 for the session which runs on Saturdays at 3 PM, September 22 - October 20. Pre-registration is required.
LPGA Girls Golf
Girls, 7- 17, are invited to participate in the September ‘Autumn’ event scheduled from 2-4 PM on Saturday, September 22. Tuition is $10 per junior.
