On Tuesday, October 11, junior high students from the Valparaiso Community Schools gathered in the Valparaiso High School auditorium for their very own 
Fall Concert. Students were both nervous and excited for, at least some of them, it was their very first concert. Tim Kopf and Sherri Nord were directing the students with excellence, and you could tell that they taught the students very splendidly as well. The 5th, 6th, and 7th and 8th grade orchestra really did sound terrific. Andrea Luther also assisted directing and playing with the students also. Standout pieces from the night included Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" by the 5th grade orchestra, Chase's "Blue Ridge Boogie" in which the students played their instruments while standing quickly and sitting down at key moments, and Alan Menken's "The Little Mermaid". Once again, all the students did a great job and are sure to get even better in the near future!
