K-9 Frida Retiring from the Valparaiso Police Department

VPD-Todd-and-FridaThe Valparaiso Police Department K-9 Unit is announcing the retirement of Police K-9 “Frida” after 7 yrs of service. Frida began her career with the Valparaiso Police Department in 2005.

Frida has been with her partner, Officer Todd Kobitz since she joined the department. Frida’s services have resulted in 325 arrests. Frida was the departments first “full patrol” K-9, which means she was certified in narcotic detection, building searches, area searches, tracking of suspects, article searches and aggression.

Frida will spend her retirement at home with Officer Kobitz and his family. We congratulate Frida on an outstanding career and wish her a happy retirement.
