“Everglades of the North” nominated for an Emmy
The locally produced documentary “Everglades of the North: the Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh,” which has been nominated for a Chicago/Midwest Emmy Award, will be featured in the In-Vision Theater at the Indiana Welcome Center on Sunday, Oct. 27 beginning at 2:00 p.m. The public is invited to view the documentary for free on a first come, first served seating basis.
The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Chicago/Midwest Chapter nominated the documentary last month for an Emmy in the category of Outstanding Achievement for Documentary Programs – Historical.
The 2013 Chicago/Midwest Emmy Ceremony will be held on Sunday, Nov. 3rd at the Alhambra Palace in Chicago.
The film debuted on Lakeshore Public Television (WYIN) in November 2012 and has since been aired on 32 PBS stations across the nation.
It has won awards in several film festivals and is currently an “Official Selection” in the American Conservation Film Festival to be held in West Virginia this fall.
