Kiwanis-2009 Mid Year Conference

This year's Kiwanis Mid Year Conference is scheduled for February 6-8, 2009 in Indianapolis.

Workshops
The 2009 Mid Year Conference will offer numerous educational sessions.  All Kiwanians should attend and enjoy workshops on Service Leadership Programs, Supporting Riley, Club Growth, and other important Kiwanis Family topics.

A few workshops being offered include:

  • How Our Economy Affects Service to our Children
  • Attracting New and Younger Members
  • Jump on Board with Jump Kids Jump

Awards
Numerous awards will be given to clubs and divisions around Indiana.  Saturday’s Opening Session, Noon luncheon and Closing session will feature club and divisions awards.

Awards to be given are as follows:

  • 2007-08 Kiwanis International Distinguished Divisions (Lt. Governors)
  • 2007-08 Kiwanis International and District Distinguished Clubs
  • 2007-08 Inter-Club Awards
  • 2007-08 Club Bulletin Awards
  • 2007-08 Riley Fundraising Check Presentation
  • 2007-08 Club of the Year

Keynote Speakers
The 2009 Mid Year Conference will include three keynote speakers for attendees to enjoy.

Bill Stanczykiewicz, Executive Director of Indiana Youth Institute, will speak at the opening session.  Bill has had a life long career in public policy and child advocacy.

During the noon luncheon Dr. Ora Hirsch Pescovitz will share her passion and knowledge about Riley Hospital for Children.  Dr. Pescovitz is the President and CEO of Riley Hospital for Children.

To conclude the Mid Year Conference Appellate Court Justice Melissa S. May will speak at the closing session. 

During the Mid Year Conference, the Indiana District, will be hosting its 3rd Annual Dinner and Auction Benefit for Riley Hospital for Children.  Kiwanians and Non-Kiwanians alike are welcome and invited to this elegant evening.  The registration fee is $50 per person.  Please remember that this event is a benefit and all proceeds will go directly to support the children of Riley Hospital.
