The Kankakee Valley Kougars defeated the Valparaiso Vikings 53-52 on November 8, 2011, riding a 20-point fourth quarter to upset the Vikings.
Katherine Berning led the Vikings with 15 points and also contributed four assists and three rebounds, while Grace Withrow added 13 points, eight assists, and 7 rebounds.
The Vikings will play on Saturday in the annual Viking Invitational, as the school will host Elkart Memorial, Munster and Hamilton Southeastern in the tournament.
