The IHSAA drew the brackets for the girls basketball state tournament on Sunday, as the Vikings will have a tough battle to win their sectional this year.
The Class 4A, Sectional 2 features seven teams from the Duneland Athletic Conference along with local powerhouse Hobart, but Valpo may not need to face them until the sectional championship game, should they advance. The other teams in the conference include Portage, LaPorte, Crown Point, Michigan City, Chesterton, and Merrillvile.
Valparaiso will first face off against the Crown Point Bulldogs at Portage High School, with the date TBA. Should the Vikings win that first game, they will face off against the winner of Portage and LaPorte.
Good luck to the Vikings in their last game of the season, as they travel to Chesterton to face off against the Trojans!
