Lake Shore Ford Partners with Chesterton High School

Chesterton-High-SchoolAs part of the Ford Motor Company’s “Drive One For Your School” program, Lake Shore Ford and members of Chesterton High School’s parent Band Booster organization are working together to help support the band program and music education in the Duneland Schools. Lake Shore Ford and the Ford Motor Company have committed to donate $20 for each adult that comes out to Chesterton High School this Saturday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to test drive a new Ford Vehicle. This is the third annual “Drive One For Your School” event to be hosted at CHS. Past years have seen close to 300 Duneland-area residents show their support by coming out and enjoying a test drive.

Since the program’s inception in 2007, the Drive One For Your School program has generated over $12 Million dollars in donations for high schools nationwide. The money raised has helped to ensure that music education remains a vital part of the curriculum in our schools, and that extracurricular activities like sports also remain strong, despite budgetary constraints and funding cuts.

Lake Shore Ford representative Don Hadley said, “I’m more than thrilled that so many people have come out in the past to show their support for Chesterton High School and the CHS Band Boosters. I’ve never been more proud to be a Ford dealer. Participants had a chance to take a fun, casual drive in one of our vehicles, while lending our students and community a much-needed helping hand.”

“We’re very excited to have the chance to team up with Don Hadley and the Ford Company. Most everyone that has comes out to enjoy this event in the past, comments on what a great opportunity this is to check out a variety of vehicles in a very relaxed atmosphere, AND help our students at the same time,” said CHS Band Director Michael Scheiber. “We’re very appreciative of Ford’s involvement in our community."
