Every year, Best Companies Group, an independent research firm who identifies and recognizes great places to work, conducts a simple but very thorough assessment of companies of all sizes throughout Indiana in their search for the ‘Best Places to Work in Indiana.’ The captivating initiative seeks to identify and recognize the best employers Indiana has to offer.

To find one of the Top-10 ‘Best Places to Work in Indiana’ you have to look no further than Chesterton, where Lakeside Wealth Management is having a profoundly positive impact on the over 30 employees that make up the company, as well as the community around them.

At Lakeside Wealth Management, advisors and staff are encouraged to cook for clients and community members inside their cafe during business hours. Employees are able to listen to music throughout the day to relax and focus on their work, which sometimes leads to impromptu dance parties.

Lakeside Wealth Management was 10th in the 2016 ‘Best Places to Work in Indiana’ and their Executive Assistant, Beth Johnson, mentioned a few of the reasons why the company stands out from the rest.

“Lakeside is made up of a group of individuals that genuinely care about each other and support each other always,” Johnson said. “My favorite part of working here is how community-involved and family-oriented we are. I can go on a field trip or take my children to the doctor without worrying about my job because someone always happily has my back. Lakeside has had such a positive influence on me and has encouraged me to seek out opportunities where I can volunteer my time and talents and give back.”

Through survey tools distributed by Best Companies Group, employees consider and evaluate in-depth questions about their workplace and employers, while the employers submit details about company demographics, policies, practices and benefits.

“I have seen many changes occur within the organization, and in the last 5 years the company has become a better place for the employees, and within the community,” said Kelley Weisenbacher, Operations Coordinator of Lakeside Wealth Management’s Retirement Plan Division. “Being named in the top 10 places to work in Indiana validates the 11 years I have contributed to this organization and solidifies the fun and enjoyment I have in coming to work every day.”
