The Lakeside Wealth Management team is spread out across the Northwest Indiana region and stretching as far as Indianapolis, South Bend and Illinois. While the team has been separated for the last several weeks, keeping each other, their families and clients safe, there’s one thing that always brings them together (although virtually right now), food!

Recently the executive team for Lakeside initiated an eat local challenge to the team, designed to keep company morale high while also helping local restaurants in the region. Each employee was given $75 to treat their families to dinner. The catch? Dinner had to be ordered from a favorite locally owned restaurant. “This was important for two reasons,” comments Tim Rice, President for Lakeside. “Food is something that really brings people together. We wanted to thank our team and their families for all they are doing while supporting other local business during this difficult time.”

The team was also asked to snap a picture representing the restaurants they picked. “We had a blast with this challenge,” said Jenn Brown, corporate communications manager for Lakeside. “We all miss seeing each other so sharing pictures of our families enjoying dinner together helped bring our team morale back up.”

For some, the challenge offered a way to have dinner together while also adhering to physical distancing guidelines. “I choose Greek’s Pizzeria in Valpo,” said Bill Howard, operations coordinator for Lakeside. “We had a partial family pizza party. I ordered pizzas and delivered them to three family members, including my 95-year-old mother-in-law. We then talked by phone and enjoyed a family dinner together!”

The pictures and restaurants were highlighted in a series of social media posts on Lakeside’s Facebook page for all to enjoy. A big thank you to all the restaurants who fed the Lakeside team during these unprecedented times: Wagners Ribs, Lucrezia’s, Round the Clock, Val’s Pizza, Stacks Bar and Grill, McGowan and Sons, Greeks Pizza, Bangkok Thai, Burgerhaus, Albano’s Pasta Shop, Gelsosomo’s Pizza, Radius, Lincoln Flats, Tomato Bar, Buttermilk, Mosers Austrian Café, Docs Smokehouse, Beijing’s, Brewster’s, Georges Family Restaurant, Al Emporium, Patrick’s Grille, and The Italian House on Park.
