Leon’s Triathlon 2015 Road Closures

leons worlds fastest triathlon 2014-3The City of Hammond will once again host Leon’s Triathlon on Sunday, June 7, where more than 500 civilian and military athletes will compete in the triathlon known as “America’s Race.” The race begins and ends at Wolf Lake Memorial Park and will be televised nationwide during Fourth of July weekend on Comcast SportsNet.

The following sections of roads will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.:

Calumet Avenue from 115th Street to 138th Street 119th Street from Calumet Avenue to Forsythe Park 129th Street from Calumet Avenue west toward the Indiana Toll Road Sheffield Avenue from 129th Street North to Wolf Lake Memorial Park

The access route for Strack & Van Til on Calumet Avenue during Leon’s Triathlon will be as follows:

From 115th Street and Calumet Avenue, west on 115th Street to Brown Avenue. Brown Avenue south to 118th Street 118th Street to the alley west of Calumet Avenue

Strack & Van Til shoppers will be routed to 119th Street, exiting only onto westbound 119th Street to Warwick Avenue north, and will turn right to Brown Avenue. Travelers will then head east to Calumet Avenue at 115th Avenue.
