Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County’s Valparaiso Club is holding registration for the Link & Learn Homework Help and Tutoring Program August 10 – 21, 2015. The program offers one-on-one tutoring for Club members in 45-minute sessions over the course of a school semester to help strengthen their skills in math and reading literacy. Link & Learn tutoring sessions are held at the Club one to three times per week with the same tutor-Club member pair. This consistency builds a sense of trust, leading to a greater likelihood of academic success.

“Our staff and volunteers are very dedicated to ensuring Club members are successful in school. This dedication truly shines through when you see a connection between a Club member and their tutor and, of course, when you see a child’s attitude toward school and homework change in a positive manner,” states Ryan Smiley, president of Boys & Girls Clubs of Porter County.

For more registration information, contact Christie Fuller, club director for the Valparaiso Club at (219) 464-7282, Extension 224 or via email at cfuller@bgcpoco.org. Tutoring sessions/slots fill quickly and a current Club membership is needed for registration.
