Living Healthy with Heart Failure is HEARTwork

First-Certification-Heart-FailureBeing diagnosed with heart failure doesn’t mean your life has to stop. Just the opposite. It’s when the work begins- HEARTwork.

Nearly six million Americans are living with heart failure.* Although there’s no cure, heart failure’s rate of progression varies. Once diagnosed, patients making simple self-care measures and heart-healthy choices can effectively curb some of the symptoms such as fatigue, shortness of breath, swelling and others. In addition to improving their quality of life, heart failure patients who practice good self-care are also less likely to wind up in the hospital.

Porter Regional Hospital is the first hospital in northern Indiana and second in state to be Awarded Advanced Certification in Heart Failure from The Joint Commission
