Local Bus Driver Needs Help for the Holidays

roof"There's no place like home for the holidays," Perry Como sang. And these words couldn't be more true.

Local bus driver, Sue Manago, has lived with her partner, Jill, in their Valparaiso home for the last 15 years. As proud homeowners, they have made great memories there and have lived through some of the most challenging circumstances that life could thrown at them.

Loved an known by many, Sue and Jill have always taken care of those in their community and now they could use some help. Recently their home has fallen under disrepair, and they lack the funds and credit to get it fixed. They have worked very hard to maintain the house but have been unable to save enough for a "rainy day" fund.

The roof needs to be replaced and the front porch sags, there are cracks in the sidewalk and Sue's truck just took a turn for the worse on Thanksgiving Day, and the list goes on.

Northwest Indiana is a giving region, always taking care of our own. Take some time this holiday season to help out these deserving people. No donation is too small and after all, this is the real reason for the season.
