Extra DUI Patrols Planned for St. Patrick’s Weekend
This weekend local police agencies will be joining forces to work roaming drunk driving patrols. Officers from Valparaiso, Porter County Sheriff’s Department, Hebron and Kouts Police Departments will be joining together to target motorists driving under the influence. Officers will be combining forces and targeting the Valparaiso and South Porter County areas.
The Porter County Drunk Driving Task Force and Indiana Governor’s Council on Impaired and Dangerous Driving will be providing grant funds for the officers to work the extra patrols.
Officers will be targeting this weekend due to the St. Patrick Day weekend. Motorists who observe erratic driving are encouraged to dial 911 on their cellular phones and report their observations.
If you are planning on celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and are going to consume alcoholic beverages please plan ahead . Have a designated driver available. Don’t become one of the 1200 DUI arrests in Porter County.
