Local Universities Host Veteran Career Transition Fair

Purdue University North Central, Purdue University Calumet, and Ivy Tech Community College of Northwest Indiana will host a Veterans Career Transition Fair on Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Jean Shepherd Community Center, in Hammond. The event will be open to all veterans, service members, and their families.

The fair will feature an array of local businesses and organizations that seek to hire veterans, as well as admissions representatives from many local colleges and universities. Attendees are encouraged to research the business and educational organizations that interest them and to bring multiple copies of their resumes, along with any questions they may have.

Fair attendees may seek resume review on Monday, Aug. 1 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Purdue University Calumet Student Union & Library Room 349; Purdue North Central Library-Student-Faculty Building Room 28 and Ivy Tech-Gary Campus Technology Building Room 204. No appointment is necessary. Sessions are open to all veterans, service members and their families who plan to attend the Fair.
