On Sunday, September 9, the VFW Post 2511 will host a spaghetti dinner from 1:00-4:00 p.m. to support of the members of the Chesterton High School Trojan Guard and CHS Band Boosters. These groups are working to raise funds for the purchase of new uniforms for the marching band.
“It’s been 16 years since our current uniforms were purchased and while they’ve served us well, few viable uniforms are left to fit the students in our growing program,” said CHS Band director Michael Scheiber. “This project requires a sizeable financial investment and the support we’ve received from community groups including the VFW Post 2511 is greatly appreciated and very gratifying to our students, parents and staff,” Scheiber added.
Community Chairperson Martha Warren has acted as the coordinator of this event by working with VFW Post 2511. The Post will be donating the hall, and the Womens' Auxiliary who will be donating the food for the event. Tickets are $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children under 12. The VFW Post 2511 is located at 1290 Wagner Road in Porter.
