Local Volunteers Offer Help To Neighbors In Need

Neighborlink-LogoThis time of year brings many challenges for senior citizens, the disabled, single moms and low income households. NeighborLink Porter County, a local nonprofit organization, has volunteers ready to meet many of those challenges.

NeighborLink invites Porter County residents to call for free assistance from their neighbors for projects such as raking leaves, shoveling snow, painting, cleaning and transportation to appointments. Requests for assistance may be submitted to NeighborLink's website at www.neighborlinkpc.org or by calling (219) 617-2077.

For those looking for a way to give back this season, NeighborLink is also in need of volunteers. A list of volunteer opportunities are posted on NeighborLink's website. People may volunteer for a specific project, or on an ongoing basis.

I couldn’t believe how excited the homeowners were when we arrived to help them take care of a project, they jumped right in to help,” says Allen Wright, a local volunteer.

NeighborLink Porter County is a not -for-profit organization whose mission is "Practical Neighbor-To-Neighbor Expressions Of God’s Love." Their volunteers have been living that out while completing over 200 various projects in the last three years.

NeighborLink is a registered 501(c)( 3) that was started in 2008. If you would like to donate to NeighborLink or would like more information, call 219-617-2077 or visit the web site at www.neighborlinkpc.org.
