CCSJ-Locicero-and-Drew-Named-to-CCAC-All-Conference-Second-TeamWhile the 2018 season didn't end the way the Calumet College of St. Joseph softball team wanted it to, it's not all bad news. The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their regular season award winners on Thursday evening, with outgoing seniors Joanna Drew (SR/Warrenville, Ill.) and Geena Locicero (SR/Chicago Heights, Ill.) both making second team all-conference.

Drew, a resident of Warrenville, Ill., put together a fine senior campaign. Drew played in 41 games this past year, starting 40 of them, and hit .324 (36 for 111). She also slugged .477, hitting four doubles, two triples, three homeruns, and knocked in 19 RBI's. The senior finished off her career at Cal College with a .258 average, appearing in over 40 games in three of her four seasons while at CCSJ.

Locicero, a native of Chicago Heights, Ill., finished off her Lady Wave career as one of the most prolific hitters the program has ever seen. Locicero hit .355 during the 2018 campaign, and was ranked in the top 35 nationally in total chances, total putouts, chances per game, and putouts per game this season. In her three-year career at Calumet College of St. Joseph, Locicero batted .318 in 126 total games. She slugged .501 in 355 at bats, including 24 doubles, one triple, 13 home runs, and 72 RBI's in her playing time with the Crimson Wave.
