Enjoy locally brewed craft beer, great food - and the arts, Michigan City-style - on #GivingBrewsDay.
On Tuesday, Nov. 28, Shoreline Brewery and the Lubeznik Center for the Arts (LCA) are teaming up to create #GivingBrewsDay, a homegrown, Michigan City way of celebrating #GivingTuesday, the annual global day of giving.
"We are grateful to Shoreline Brewery for offering this generous give-back," says Janet Bloch, Executive Director of the Lubeznik Center for the Arts. "Shoreline and Lubeznik Center are both about making this a creative place to live and work. The donations from this give-back will help us bring inspiring art experiences to more kids and adults in our community."
From 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 28, Shoreline will offer a perfect pairing of one of their award-winning beers with a special dish created by Executive Chef Barry Smith. A portion of the proceeds from every pairing sold will be donated to the LCA to support the center's all-ages arts programming and exhibitions. Guests can also make a donation to LCA when they pay their bill.
Participants making a special donation of $20 or more can also have a chance to win a brew tour ($100 value) for themselves and three friends. The tour includes a behind-the-scenes walk through each step of the brewing process with Brewmaster Jim Knight to see how some of Northwest Indiana's favorite beers are made, and includes a free tasting.
Shoreline Brewery is located at 208 Wabash Street in Michigan City, IN, just a block from Lubeznik Center for the Arts and is a smoke-free, family-friendly restaurant. Learn more at shorelinebrewery.com.
Launched in 2012, #GivingTuesday directly follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and is intended to kick off the charitable season, providing an opportunity for many to focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Those unable to make it to Shoreline for #GivingBrewsDay can still donate to the Lubeznik Center for the Arts by going online to lubeznikcenter.org; calling 219-874-4900 during business hours; or via Facebook, @LubeznikCenterfortheArts.
